The Struggle You Are in Now is the Strength for Tomorrow 🌿

Some thoughts have a way of finding us when we least expect them. During today’s walk, we found ourselves talking about how every struggle slowly turns into strength for tomorrow — a truth that feels simple yet so powerful when we really think about it.
It reminded me of a story that beautifully captures this idea — the story of Delna, a young woman whose hardest days became the foundation of her strength.

Delna’s Story: Finding Strength for Tomorrow

Delna woke up in a hospital bed one morning, her eyes open but her heart heavy. She didn’t speak a word. Her parents stood nearby, worried, confused, and desperate to help.
But inside, Delna was fighting silent battles — ones no one could see.

The doctors suggested counselling. Her parents gently insisted, even though she didn’t want to go. After much hesitation, Delna agreed and joined a program for three months. What she didn’t know was that this decision would slowly change her life.

At first, she stayed distant — attending sessions but keeping to herself. Then one day, she joined a simple art activity. With brush and colors in hand, she began to paint. For the first time in months, something felt peaceful.

That’s when she met Livina, a singer who often visited the center to cheer up the kids. Livina noticed Delna sitting alone, deeply focused on her mandala art. She walked over, smiled, and said softly,

“This is beautiful. You’ve got real talent.”

It was a simple sentence — but for Delna, it meant the world.
She finally smiled.

When Livina asked how she ended up there, Delna’s eyes welled up.

“I’m the only child,” she said. “My parents love me, but they’ve always decided everything for me — my career, clothes, even my friends. I started losing myself in trying to please them. I made a few bad choices… and that’s how I ended up here.”

Livina held her hand and said words that stayed with her forever:

“The struggle you’re facing today is the strength for tomorrow. Don’t fear your reflection — talk to yourself, understand what you want. Once you conquer your mind, you can conquer anything.”

Those words became a turning point for Delna.
She continued painting, and later started her own small art business. The same pain that once weighed her down became the strength that pushed her forward.

While sharing this story, we realized how true it feels in our own lives. We all go through phases that feel endless — losing a job, struggling in relationships, facing health or family worries.
But those moments, though heavy, build invisible muscles inside us.

Sometimes, life forces us to pause, reflect, and restart — just like Delna did.
And when we finally look back, we see how far we’ve come.
